"Manalapan is located in Western Monmouth County, NJ. It covers an area of 30.85 square miles. Manalapan Township provides the suburban setting that has contributed greatly to its appeal among new residents. The community is just 15 miles from the Jersey Shore and 45 miles southwest of New York City. Routes 33 and 9 run through town, providing access to the Garden State Parkway and the New Jersey Turnpike."

Access to public transportation is available along Route 9. NJ Transit and Academy lines run into midtown and lower Manhattan. Manalapan Township has permit parking available to residents. NJ Transit trains can be picked up at Matawan or Princeton Junction train stations.
